Terms
The arrangement, in plain words.
Last updated 7 October 2026
Tend is a small app, made by a small company. These terms are short because the arrangement is simple.
Tend is made by Tend App LLC — “we” and “us” on this page. By using Tend you agree to what’s written here. It covers the TestFlight beta and the released app.
Apple’s terms, too
You download Tend from Apple, so Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies too. These terms add to it rather than replace it. They are between you and us, not you and Apple, and we — not Apple — are responsible for Tend and for supporting it.
What Tend is, and what it isn’t
Tend is a place to notice what fills you, and to make a little room for it each day. It’s a notebook with a shape to it.
Tend is not medical, psychological or therapeutic care, and nothing in it is advice. It can’t tell when you’re struggling, and it isn’t built to help in a crisis. If you are having a hard time, please talk to someone qualified — a doctor, a therapist, or your local emergency number if you are in danger.
What you write is yours
Everything you put into Tend — your check-ins, reflections, notes and directions — belongs to you. It stays on your phone. We can’t read it, and we claim no rights to it. The privacy policy sets out exactly what does and doesn’t leave your phone.
Keep your own copy. Because there’s no server, there’s no copy of your writing anywhere but your phone. If the phone is lost, reset or replaced, or Tend is deleted, what’s in it goes too, and we have no way to bring it back. Settings → Your data lets you export everything whenever you like. Please do, now and then.
If you write to us. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to make Tend better without owing you anything for it. We won’t share your name or what you sent without asking first.
Apple and Google
You can sign in with Apple or Google, and you can connect the calendar on your iPhone, your Google Calendar, or both. None of this is required — you can type your name and use Tend without a calendar.
When you do use them, your Apple and Google accounts stay under those companies’ own terms. Tend only ever reads your calendar: it never creates, changes or deletes an event. What Tend receives from Google is used only to fill in your name and show today’s events beside your well, on your phone, as the privacy policy sets out.
You can take that access back whenever you like — disconnect in Settings → App Settings, or remove Tend at myaccount.google.com/connections. Delete everything removes it too.
What’s ours
Tend’s name, its mark, the stone icons, the design, the writing in the app and the code belong to us. You’re welcome to use Tend for yourself. Please don’t copy it, resell it, or take it apart to rebuild it, beyond whatever the law where you live already allows.
Price
Tend is free. If that ever changes, what costs money and what it costs will be clear before you pay anything, payment will go through Apple, and this page will be updated before it ships.
The beta
A TestFlight build is unfinished on purpose. Things may change, move or disappear between builds, and some of them will break. Your writing stays on your phone through all of that, but exporting a copy is a good habit while the app is still being built.
Changes, and stopping
We’ll keep changing Tend — adding things, taking things out, rewriting what doesn’t work. We may also one day stop making it. If that happens we’ll say so in the app and give as much notice as we can, and what you’ve written stays on your phone and can still be exported.
You can stop whenever you like. Deleting the app, or Settings → Your data → Delete everything, is all it takes.
The legal part
We’ve built Tend with care, but it’s provided as it is, without guarantees that it will always work, suit your purposes, or be free of mistakes.
As far as the law allows, we’re not responsible for indirect or knock-on losses from using Tend — including lost writing — and our total responsibility to you for anything to do with Tend is limited to what you paid for it.
Nothing on this page takes away rights you have as a consumer that the law where you live doesn’t allow to be taken away.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, we’ll update this page before the change ships and move the date at the top.
